Chapter one introduced us to several and Chapter 2 brings in a familiar Greek heroine (with ties to Egypt too)  So here's White Owl --in her bombshell role, complete with her new sidekick Minnie (or Minerva)

Looking up at the Statue of Liberty, Lady Christine Kent couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. She had always hoped that her first trip to New York would be a joyful occasion, another exciting adventure for her and Priyah. The reality was far more melancholy. Priyah hadn’t been with her for months, the heavy atmosphere of the war had soured any hope of excitement, and the prospect of adventure had long since ceased to be relevant to her. As the boat gently rocked beneath her feet and the breeze displaced a few loose strands of her coal black hair, all she could think about was how much she wished they’d never taken that trip to the Amazon together.

Athena Nikos huffed out an irritable sigh, pausing for a moment to stand on one leg and kick at the stone floor of the temple, doing her best to bang some of the intrusive sand from her sandals. She achieved very little, and as soon as she put weight back on the offending foot, she felt the red-hot, gravelly grains lodged between her toes, grating against her with every shift of her weight.
She hated sand.
It was, in her opinion, the single worst thing the Gods had ever created. It was coarse, irritating, and it got everywhere! Her once pure and pristine white tunic was filthy from her travels, covered in orange dust and probably stained. The golden necklace and headpiece she wore were unbearably hot under the eternal bombardment of the sun, and the less was said about her sandals ability to cope with this terrain, the better. She was too hot to even sweat properly.
